Spirit’s Next Move is the new official blog of the Center for World Spirituality. Our organization is articulating and advancing a spiritual movement that will ripple across the globe in the hearts and minds of many millions of people. Such change is both an evolutionary and existential necessity, given the magnitude of challenges faced all across the planet.
For some people, the classical religions have lost their power. They seek a path of practice and commitment that transcends the traditions. For others, their intuitive desire is to transcend and include the traditions. They seek to live as dual citizens, rooted in their tradition, even as they locate themselves as citizens in the broader community of World Spirituality. Still others are secular humanists with an intuitive sense that their optimism, vitality, love, and ethics are of sacred significance.
A World Spirituality based on the shared truths demonstrated by reason and the eye of spirit in contemplation of all the great systems of knowing is urgently needed right now. Evolving an authentic life rooted in commitment and freedom articulated and lived in the principles and practices of World Spirituality is the next step in Spirit’s unfolding. The teachings of Integral Spirituality, including the AQAL Framework pioneered by Ken Wilber, provide a key intellectual touchstone for our paradigm.
The Center for World Spirituality is a think tank which is writing a series of groundbreaking books and creating new templates for spiritual practice, education, and community. Welling up from an integration of the leading-edge emergent evolutionary insights taught by spirituality, psychology, and the sciences, World Spirituality paves the way for the next stage of evolution, seeding the ground of hope that is our collective memory of the future.
This Publication’s Mission
Spirit’s Next Move aspires to provide nearly daily spiritual inspiration, current affairs commentary, and brief notes of appreciation/criticism. We are a weblog comprised mainly of short writings and columns (most posts being less than 1,000 words). Articles and essays of greater length are not published here, but on the website for the Center for World Spirituality. Still other multimedia educational content will be made available for sale in the form of tele-series, electronic courses, and audio/video presentations on both the blog and website.
At Spirit’s Next Move, we consider ourselves to be a vanguard of the international school of thought/practice which also goes by the names Integral Spirituality and Evolutionary Spirituality. We are proudly aligned with these schools even as we affirm our differences and explore our overlapping approaches through mutual dialogue. Our unique approach is intended to embrace the best insights of pre-modern, modern, and post-modern wisdom schools in a comprehensive wisdom teaching known as the Enlightenment of Fullness (and its linchpin, the Unique Self Teaching of Marc Gafni).
